What's On in Perth Next Week

If you are going to be in Perth, then you might like to check this out at the Art Gallery - of course the State Library of WA is part of the Cultural Centre in Perth just opposite the Art Gallery so do be sure to have a peek there too :-)

Blooming again in 2006

Art in Bloom, proudly presented by the Friends of the Art Gallery of Western Australia during the 2006 City of Perth Winter Arts Festival, is set to be the floral extravaganza of the year! More than 100 West Australians will become “floral artists” using thousands of flowers and plants to create arrangements inspired by works from the State Art Collection. Art in Bloom remains the only event of its kind in Australia and is a rare opportunity to see and experience the State Collection in a completely different light.

The event runs from Friday 22 September until Sunday 24 September.

An $8.00 entry fee ($5.00 concession) applies to the Gallery for the duration of the event. The proceeds are used by the Friends to assist with the acquisition of artworks for the State Art Collection.

Art in Bloom promises to be a highlight of the Gallery's calendar of events for 2006.
